Cal TURN Conference FlyerOur next Cal TURN event is scheduled for October 6-7, 2016 at the Corona-Norco Teachers Association, 1189 Mountain Ave, Norco, CA. Our conference will focus on Building Capacity to Maximize Continuous Improvement and Excellence: Diving Deeper. We are assembling presenters, both from our local unions and districts as well as nationally recognized specialists and guests to share promising practices so we can learn from and support each other’s work.
Topics include:
•Impact of Labor-Management Collaboration at the School Site Level
•Creating a Vision of Cal TURN
•The San Diego Assessment Journey
•California’s Continuous Improvement and Accountability Plan
•Leading Learning Through Collaboration
Our Cal TURN teams represent union & teacher leaders, school & district administrators and board members who are working jointly to plan and implement teacher evaluation systems and college and career ready standards to improve teaching and learning. We continue to encourage and support our Cal TURN teams to jointly develop, implement and share their efforts. Additionally, we will work with teams to develop action plans in order to facilitate the work in our school communities.
Cal TURN locals are encouraged to invite representatives from their district and school administration, boards of education and community leaders to join their teams for this two-day forum. The conference will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 6, with registration beginning at 9:00am, and will conclude by 2:30 pm on Friday, October 7.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS: A block of rooms will be reserved at the Hampton Inn-Norco Corona Eastvale, 1530 Hamner Ave., Norco, CA for Cal TURN participants at a rate of $104, plus taxes & fees per room, per night based on single or double occupancy.
