Our next Great Lakes TURN conference, Advancing Equity & Social-Emotional Learning Through Collaborative Partnerships, is scheduled for November 14-15, 2019 at National Louis University-Lisle, 850 Warrenville Road, Lisle, Illinois 60532. We are pleased to have Elgin Teachers Association and District U-46 serve as hosts for our meeting. We will examine policies, programs and practices that impact our efforts to ensure equity and excellence for all students. We continue to use Michael Fullan’s Coherence Framework as a guide to assist our teams in their efforts to establish shared goals and accountability as well as building capacity to deepen student learning through pedagogical practices. Our agenda will focus on Social Emotional Learning and Equity through a collaborative approach.
Our GL TURN teams represent union & teacher leaders, school & district administrators, board members and community partners who are working jointly to address the academic, social and emotional learning needs of all children. We continue to encourage and support our GL TURN teams to jointly develop, implement and share their continuous improvement efforts.
Our GL TURN locals are encouraged to invite representatives from their district and school administration, boards of education and community leaders to join their teams for this two-day conference. We look forward to listening and learning together.
