Dear Northeast TURN Colleague,
Our next Northeast TURN event is scheduled for March 17-18, 2017 at Rutgers University Inn & Conference Center, 178 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Our conference will focus on Charting Our Course: Excellence and Equity Through Collaborative Partnerships. We are excited to once again present this conference in partnership with the New Jersey Collaborative School Leadership Initiative. We will continue to collaboratively examine ways to plan and integrate the implementation of rigorous and challenging student learning and teaching standards, practices and programs. We will also explore new approaches in developing conditions for effective teaching and learning. Our agenda will feature local, state and national examples of promising practices and policies that focus on this joint work.
Our NE TURN teams represent union & teacher leaders, school & district administrators and board members who are working jointly to plan and implement teacher evaluation systems and the common core standards to improve teaching and learning. We continue to encourage and support our NE TURN teams to jointly develop, implement and share their efforts. Additionally, we will work with teams to develop action plans in order to facilitate the work in our school communities.
Our NE TURN locals are encouraged to invite representatives from their district and school administration, boards of education and community leaders to join their teams for this two-day forum. Our conference will begin at 9:00 am on Friday, March 17 and will conclude by 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 18.
