Dear Great Lakes TURN Colleague,
Our next Great Lakes TURN event is scheduled for May 11-12, 2017 at the Mayerson Academy, 2650 Highland Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45219. Our conference focus will be Advancing Labor Management and Community Partnerships to Address Opportunity Gaps. We will continue to collaboratively examine ways to plan and integrate the implementation of rigorous and challenging student learning and teaching standards, practices and programs. We will also explore new approaches in developing conditions for effective teaching and learning. Our agenda will feature local, state and national examples of promising practices, emerging case studies, and policies that focus on this joint work.
Our GL TURN teams represent union & teacher leaders, school & district administrators and board members who are working jointly to plan and implement teacher evaluation systems and college and career ready standards to improve teaching and learning. We continue to encourage and support our GL TURN teams to jointly develop, implement and share their efforts.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate 100 participants at this conference. Therefore, we are asking districts to limit their teams to 4 people made up of 2 union/teacher leaders and 2 district administration/board members. The conference will begin at 8:30 am on Thursday, May 11 and will conclude by 12:00 pm on Friday, May 12.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati/Uptown-University Area, 3024 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45219 for participants at a rate of $129, plus taxes & fees per room, per night based on single or double occupancy. CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: The registration deadline is May 5, 2017. There is a $100 registration fee per person, which includes breakfast on both days and lunch on day one. Payment may be made via purchase order or check made payable to the Consortium for Educational Change and mailed to:
